چکیده

Plants growing in the soils of karst forests associate with arbuscular mycorrhizae (AM) or ectomycorrhizae (ECM) to acquire nutrients. We researched how these different mycorrhizal associations affect rhizosphere soil nutrient economy calcareous soils. Bulk and were sampled beneath 25 AM 9 ECM plants primary at Puding Karst Critical Zone Observatory. Nutrient contents potential enzyme activities analyzed test effect types association on nitrogen (N) phosphorus (P) economies. The nitrate-N available-P markedly lower rhizospheres compared plants. Ectomycorrhizal promoted relatively greater investment N-acquisition enzymes, contrast, caused P-acquisition enzymes. decreased pH likely P availability. Our results revealed that form contrasting have fundamentally effects rhizospheric economies low fertility southwest China. Differentiation N- capacity implications for species coexistence high levels plant biodiversity observed forests.

Effects of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi on Growth and Nutrient Uptake of Apple Rootstocks in Calcareous Soil

The effects of three Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) species (Glomus versiforme, Claroideoglomus etunicatum and Rhizophagus intraradices) were studied on the growth parameters and nutrient uptake of three apple rootstocks (M.9, M.7 and MM.106). The soil medium contained a high level of calcium carbonate (38.65%). The results showed that AMF inoculation could increase almost all growth parame...

Caspian Coastal Forests: Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Understory Vegetation

Moist and temperate Caspian forests are associated with a diversity of soil types and topography.  Although, natural history and ecological attributes of the Caspian vegetation is well-documented, little is known about mycorrhizae of the Caspian (Hyrcanian) flora. Samples of herbaceous plant species were collected from 4 pre-determined altitudes (-13 upto about 1500m above sea level, appro...

Role of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi in Phytoremediation of Soil Rhizosphere Spiked with Poly Aromatic Hydrocarbons

Results from an innovative approach to improve remediation in the rhizosphere by encouraging healthy plant growth and thus enhancing microbial activity are reported. The effect of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (Am) on remediation efficacy of wheat, mungbean and eggplant grown in soil spiked with polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) was assessed in a pot experiment. The results of this study showed th...

Facilitation between woody and herbaceous plants that associate with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in temperate European forests

In late-successional environments, low in available nutrient such as the forest understory, herbaceous plant individuals depend strongly on their mycorrhizal associates for survival. We tested whether in temperate European forests arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) woody plants might facilitate the establishment of AM herbaceous plants in agreement with the mycorrhizal mediation hypothesis. We used a ...

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and dark septate fungi in plants associated with aquatic environments

Th ere have been several reports of symbionts in the roots of plants that live in aquatic environments. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are the most common microsymbionts and possibly recolonized the aquatic environment together with plants; however, their functions and the extent of their benefi ts are unclear. Furthermore, the presence of other groups of fungi, such as dark septate fungi (...
